Hello and welcome to CAPlopedia, the newest unofficial Civil Air Patrol resource on the web. I am Lt. Reuben Tamblingson, author of this site. Currently, a large portion of this site is still under construction, which may cause some of the resources not to work. As I endeavor to bring a quality site with quality content, I would appreciate your patience with this process. Please read below for information on some of the features I plan to bring to you, the end user.
As you look at the left side of your screen, you will notice the search box which will allow you to search for content site-wide. Below that is the menu bar, which enables quick links to the main parts of my site. As you click down to subcategories, the menu bar will expand, showing links to more parts of the site based on what section you are browsing. Across the top, there will be a menu with drop-down capabilities serving the same function as the side menu bar. Right below the drop-down menu in the main content area, you may notice small links; these are called breadcrumbs and serve as a way to retrace the steps taken to get to the content you are currently at.
On the right side of the screen you will notice a login box followed by a users online box. This is used by registered users to gain access to further parts of the CAPlopedia, such as the Community Builder, where you can link up with your friends and people you may not know, and the forums which will be put in place. Once logged in, you can access these restricted areas as well as see who is online. Another benefit of registering is that you can be granted access to author articles for publication on the site. This means that the website can be user-driven and not rely on a fixed staff to update the website, keeping the content fresh.
Other features under consideration for CAPlopedia are galleries for both images and videos, an auction area for CAP equipment, events calendar with event registration, wing-categorized news, and much more. Once again, please bear with me as I strive to bring our CAP members quality content.
